Testimonials about HIS

What makes HIS special for me is its small and close tight community, something that helped me a lot when I first moved to Hanoi 7 years ago. When I moved here, it was no denial that I was beyond nervous of the idea of living in a new country for the first time. Living in a place with an unfamiliar culture, environment, and language that I can’t understand, I was afraid of not being able to make this place my home. But the students, teachers, and even staff in this school welcomed me and accepted me the way I am right on my first day at HIS, and ever since then I did not feel alone and HIS was the first place that I can feel at home in Hanoi. Because it was small, it was really easy to get to know other students from different grades, and all the teachers, even the ones I don’t have classes with. We would come across one way or another in the hallway because of the small campus and that allowed everyone to interact with each other easily. However, in contrast to its small size, HIS offered many opportunities and support that allows us to succeed in our own goals and beyond. Academically, my teachers have always been helpful and guided me in my studies, encouraging me to give in my fullest effort and achieved my best. But I was also supported whenever I was demotivated or was struggling with non-academics obstacles, my teachers would not hesitate to offer a hand of help, or be a person to talk to about my feelings, or just to give a pat on the back to motivate me to continue on. And from those moments, I grew many bonds with my teachers who some have become second parents to me. The friends that I made from my grade, from the CCP and MRISA tournaments that I joined, or from the Student Council, have also supported me throughout the years I attended HIS, and now some of them became lifetime friends. Even though I have graduated from HIS, it would always remain a home to me as it is a place where many of my cherished memories were made, and a place that I will miss dearly.
I really cherish the time I spent at HIS because most of my memories stem from my journey there. Being part of a small school has allowed me to meet a variety of friends that span from different grades, helping me forge relationships with people that are now very special to me. The academic support that HIS provides students is amazing as well, as they foster our education to become global leaders who are compassionate and intelligent. For me, HIS is a special community to be a part of, and I am very grateful to be named an alumni to our school.

Small community but big opportunity
My memories with my classmates are unforgettable especially Camps. Camps helped us to develop teamwork and teached how communication can be the most important tool that we will need to use when we became adults. HIS community is small yet strongly connected to everyone. This is the best part of HIS community where everyone is open to new members and instantly we became family. I have to thank teachers and stuffs for their efforts to make HIS such a welcoming community.

I'm grateful for the four years I got to spend at Hanoi International School as I was able to grow both personally and professionally in this supportive environment. I am leaving with very fond memories of our wonderful students, from pre-KK through to grade 12. I am proud of the fact that HIS is an inclusive school and really does strive to live its mission to provide an inclusive and compassionate environment for its caring and diverse community.

Hanoi International School may be a small-sized, family-oriented school but wow! what amazingly BIG feats of achievements we have attained collectively! I worked for fours years at HIS in different roles and I speak from my heart in saying that we have a very supportive leadership team that trusts and empowers the highly qualified teachers to always do their best for the students. The PTA is active and supports scheduled school events especially the International Day. The local Vietnamese staff work so hard in what they do that I am amazed by how quick and efficient they lend a hand to support us in our different needs. Thank you, Xin cam on and Vinaka, HIS. Forever I will cheer and say - Gooo Tigers!!!!
