HIS is proud to be 1 of only 6 IB Continuum Schools in Vietnam authorized to offer the full International Baccalaureate (IB) programme includes Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) in the Grades 6 -10 and Diploma Programme (DP) Grades 11 and 12.

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is an assessed programme for students in Grade 11 and 12. It is recognized and respected by leading universities across the globe, and evidence suggests that higher rates of DP students go on to university and higher education study than non-IB students.

Our 2024-2025 school year will start from 07 August, 2024 and finish on 5 June, 2025.

There will be 179 instructional days in total.

Quarters Dates for 2024/2025

Quarter 1 - August 7 - Oct. 4

Quarter 2 - Oct. 14 - Dec. 13

Quarter 3 - Jan. 6 - March 21

Quarter 4 - March 31 - June 5

For application to a new academic year, starting in August, we recommend applying in November of the previous year.  However, at HIS we offer a rolling admissions program, meaning we are able to enroll students throughout the full school year.  

Placement at HIS is subject to availability in the desired grade at the time of application.

Along with your application form, you will need to submit/complete the following items:

• Student Passport Copies

• Parent Passport Copies

• Previous 2 School Reports

• Student Health Record & Insurance Information

When a student is accepted to HIS, an offer of placement, signed by the Principal, will be sent to you. An offer of placement is not enrollment. Enrollment requires the following:

• Payment of an Acceptance Fee

• Selection of Payment Options for Tuition & Fees

• Submission of the Admissions Agreement

• Submissions of the Child Protection Form

• Submissions of the IT User Agreement

• Submission of the School Bus Forms

• Local Contact Detail

If a class is at capacity, applicants will be placed on a waiting list. 

A child’s position on a class waiting list is not necessarily a function of how long he/she will wait although this is a consideration.  A place on the waitlist does not guarantee placement at HIS at any date.

Yes, HIS always welcomes students with a diverse range of abilities and aptitudes and who requires additional help. This program aims to assist students to develop their English language skills so as to access the full curriculum.

Yes, we do. This program is individualized for each student and built around details provided by observations, teacher feedback and assessment, both within the school and, if seen as necessary, using an external assessment educational expert. This data helps the school to develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a Student Support Plan (SSP) which is built collaboratively through meetings with parents, students, the school success team and, if required, input from external specialists. Within this program, students receive additional support, in or out of class, as determined by their level and nature of need.

Tuition Fee 2024 - 2025

All classes start at 7:45 a.m and finish at 3 p.m. If students participate in CCPs, they will finish at 4 p.m.

Just as we take care with our admissions process, we also have important procedures in place for students leaving our school. This is so that we can provide you with the best service.

We first require the return of text and library books, school equipment and the settlement of all fees. These clearances must be completed before the leaving certificates, transcript, school letters of recommendation, current year school report, refund of book/security deposit and examination certificates, where appropriate, can be obtained from HIS.

HIS can only withdraw a student after receiving written confirmation directly via email.  If you are aware that you will be leaving but do not yet know the official leaving date, please contact the Admissions Officer immediately.

The Main Office requires at least fifteen (15) days notice prior to the withdrawal of a student. 

Please note that all transcript or certification requests will be fulfilled 7 WORKING DAYS after the date of request, not including weekends and bank holidays. The HIS Main Office team needs time to prepare documents. So, please note, same-day requests for transcripts will not be fulfilled.

The maximum number of copies that we can provide is 7 copies per student.

HIS do not have daily uniform policy. Students should wear comfortable and neat clothing. However, in PE class, Sport events and outdoor activies, students must wear HIS PE uniform which can be purchased at school store.

At HIS we offer an optional bus service for all our students.  The HIS bus services most areas of Hanoi, both one-way or just pick up or drop off.

Each bus has a bus monitor, who will supervise and support students through their journey to and from school to ensure their safety at all times.

All school buses are fitted with seatbelts for every child.

In the afternoon the regular school bus will leave HIS at 3 pm to return the students home.  During the CCP season, we will also offer a 4 pm bus for students that attend CCP on those days.

HIS offers a buffet-style lunch for all students, with a new exciting menu each week, catered onsite by JOMA Cafe.

Students can select from a range of different food options based on their nutritional preferences.  Students at HIS also have the option to bring a pre-packed home from lunch if they prefer.

Lunch at HIS is designed with student's health in mind with menu options that are balanced, nutritious, and delicious! Our ingredients are fresh, healthy, and international and our food safety measures are of utmost importance to us.

Payment for school lunches can be done via the JOMA app so that children do not have to worry about carrying cash.  Students' accounts are registered to their student ID, so they can just ‘swipe and go’ at lunchtime!
