A big shout out to everyone at HIS or who has ever been at HIS (and many of you I would probably know because I've been at HIS for as long as I can remember!! hehe) Hope that wherever you are you are enjoying life and having fun. As for me, I’m in Canada (Vancouver Island, British Columbia...I've only begun to learn that there are actually provinces in Canada! and that Canada is actually a HUGE country) studying at Lester Pearson United World College (which is not really a college but an IB school). I won a 2 year scholarship through the Vietnam based UWC Scholarship programme. It is hard to begin to describe all the things we do here. I’m still in awe, even after 4 months of being here, how beautiful the campus is.

I've had so many amazing "first times" since I came here...from seeing snow (I could sing a song about snow its so...I cant even find a word for it!!!) to living with 3 crazy roommates (and occasionally speaking french), getting the usual stress over IB, learning the gumboot (a very cool South African dance), doing theatre arts, cooking vietnamese food for 40 people, organising advisee dinners and meeting wonderful people from all over the world. I’m learning so much and experiencing so much here, but still missing HIS lot. Thank you to everyone at HIS who has helped to make this happen for me !
Hi, I'm Hien. As of right now, I've just finished first year at UNSW, Sydney, Australia and will be starting my 2nd year in March 2008. I'm doing a degree in Commerce and will be choosing my major soon, which will be International Business with a minor in Marketing. I'm enjoying university and life in Sydney very much. There is quite a big Vietnamese community in Sydney and in the university as well but I still miss Hanoi and HIS.
Earlier in 2007, a friend of mine opened a forum for IB students and asked me to help run it, which I agreed. It has now grown into a very helpful community for IB students, with notes, sample essays and other useful guides. All HIS IB students are welcome to check it out at http://www.ibsurvival.com/
Hi, I'm Joong-Il Choi, graduated HIS in 2006. Now I'm in second year studying Physics at the university of Warwick.
It feels like just a few days has been passed since I left HIS. It was a very rewarding not just for the time I studied but for the time with my band, Eclipse, the greatest band in the history of HIS.. if you remember. haha :D
Anyway, I say hello to you, HIS. XD
Aliaa (2005): Currently I'm living in Cairo (Egypt) and I go the GUC (German University in Cairo) but I do all my studies in English. At the university I'm currently studying general Engineering but next year I’m going to start my major which is "Media Engineering".
Emily (2005): Currently studying at Evangel University. My major is Nursing, with concentrating on French and Art. I miss HIS and the faces there! I have fond memories of HIS and its routine. However, I am happy that I have moved on to the next step though: university. I can be contacted at turqwa@yahoo.com
Joo Young (2005): I am studying at the Hanoi International University of Foreign Studies. My family lives in Hanoi and I began studying Mandarin 5 months ago. I enjoy it. In 1 or 2 years, I intend to go to Beijing in China to study. I would like to work in China. I really miss HIS. My email is kiyo86@hanmail.net
Min Ji (2005): I'm living in El Centro, California. I am studying Biochemistry at the Imperial Valley College and I intend transferring to University next year. I miss HIS so much and I'd like to visit someday. I had a great time at HIS and I will never forget my happy memories with friends and teachers at HIS.
Phuong (2005): I'm in the United States now (Michigan State University). My major is marketing or finance (I havenít decided yet). The weather here is extremely cold...and itís snowing now...I like it here because MSU is a big university and I have been made a lot of friends (the food is not that good, I want to eat pho and Vietnamese food so much). However, I really miss Vietnam, everyone and especially the time when I was at HIS. I wish the time could come back. I had so much fun when I was in HIS and I will never forget those memories. These days Iím busy with study.
Thao (2005) : Since Graduation in May 2005, I have taken the IB November Exams and gained 3 extra points. I'm currently working for charity with Operation Smile, we set up the OS Student Association, and we've been organizing Fundraising activities and school trips (we go to primary schools and teach children about Dental Hygiene, Oral Re-Dehydration and Burn Prevention). I will be in the USA after the summer and I will probably study Economics and Computer Sciences.
Tram (2005): I am studying at Birmingham University. My major is Accounting and Finance (I already got headaches with numbers and all business transaction). However, university is so great. I am enjoying my new life here very much, apart from the weather. It so cold, miserable and it rains a lot here. However, over all I am so glad that I came to England, especially to Birmingham for university. BUT I miss Hanoi a lot, I miss my Vietnamese food, HIS, my teachers and all the IB2 students (year 2004-2005). I miss all the hard times that I've been through, all the deadlines, and course-work that I had to do - and our two fantastic and memorable nights: Graduation & Prom.
Yen Ly (2005): I miss HIS, Hanoi, Vietnam, HOME! England is so depressing and gloomy, apparently this year will be one of the coldest winters in 100 years too. Not to mention how horrible English food is, half of the time itís frozen food and the rest is just plain, I do cook though, but still I miss the fresh herbs from home, the yummy noodles, basically the FRESH STUFF! I miss the big fat prawns as well, the lobsters, the fish.... oh the food. I'm currently in Nottingham studying Management Studies.
Yuka (2005): In April, I will start at Waseda University in Tokyo. I am excited to be studying ìSocial Scienceî. I would love to visit Hanoi this year. I remember fondly of my time in Hanoi when I look through my Yearbook or see photos of old friends. I had a great time at HIS. I miss everyone. I recently gave a lecture at my old school about being an international student. I can be contacted at lemon≠_cherry1202@yahoo.co.jp
Yun Jeong (2005): I am studying at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea.I have undertaken to study Law and I would eventually like to become a lawyer in South Korea. I miss Hanoi International School and came back for a visit in February 2006. I can be contacted at hjoy1710@hanmail.net
Yun Yeong (2005): At the moment I am studying at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea. I have chosen to study Economics and I would like to one day become an accountant.
