Dear Parents and Students,

Please see attached a modified school calendar for 2010-2011. The major change will affect the winter break, December and January, and the closing date of the school in June. Originally Semester Two was due to start on January 10, 2011. However, there is a teacher’s recruitment fair to be held in Bangkok over the period January 9 – 13. A number of our staff have indicated they will or may wish to attend this recruitment fair which will make it impossible to have sufficient staff at HIS to run our programmes. Thus, the winter break is extended by one week to January 17. To make up this extra week the school will work an extra week in June and close on June 17.

We have made additional internal changes to ensure the external examination classes for IGCSE and IB Diploma will receive the appropriate preparation before they leave for these examinations in May 2011. Further details regarding this will follow.

The school has made this decision as early as possible and communicates it to you, to allow for families to make their plans for the winter and summer vacation periods.
